CURRENT EVENTS
As an on going assignment throughout the year, students will read an article from either a newspaper or magazine and write a short one-page response paper about the issue. You will be required to complete two current events each month. These will be due on the last Monday of each month. A source citation needs to be included.
The response write-up should contain three paragraphs. The first should summarize the article in his/her own words; the second should explain the importance of the event and how it relates to the nation or the world; and the third should be the students response, analysis, reaction or second-guessing of the event. Remember what to include this way:
What is it? Why does it matter? What do you think about it?
